Naturally Dyed Scrunchie- Nettle, Chamomile, Poppy

This scrunchie started as a piece of natural un-dyed cotton fabric. I either forage for, or, grow the flowers and plants for my dyes. This one includes both. I used foraged Nettle for the base, before over-dyeing it with Chamomile and Poppy flowers from my dye garden.

After dyeing, washing and air drying, I took the fabric to my sewing machine. I used organic cotton thread and organic cotton/natural rubber to create this piece. Every detail thoughtfully sourced, the whole process taking around 1 week. 

The art of natural dyeing creates a connection with the plants and flowers used, for both the maker and wearer. Some even say, that naturally dyed wearables have medicinal benefits, which I do believe to be true myself. 

Each Rosey order is finished with a naturally dyed ribbon and a wildflower seed tag, ready to be planted and returned to the earth.

Hand wash only when necessary using cold water and a gentle detergent, then hang to dry.
